It is human nature to resist change. In my first parish, everyone sat in the exact same seat week after week. It was small enough that I could take attendance mentally just by looking at the pews during worship! It took 36 years for John and I to purchase new every-day dishes. Today, when we worship in the parking lot, it is those who arrive FIRST (not last) who end up on the front row! Other changes, while still resisted, have a greater impact. For some, getting a flu shot is a change. For most, wearing a mask is a change. For the church I serve, not having a choir is a huge change. But all of these changes point to the desire to keep people healthy and safe as much as possible. God is with you in every change. Great is God's faithfulness!
