Blessing of the Animals
On Saturday, October 6, we will celebrate our annual “Blessing of the Animals.” Anyone in the community is welcome! (Though I ask that snakes, mice and gerbils be contained!) We do this in memory of St. Francis, who had a special relationship to God’s creation. We sing, and pray, thanking God for the animals who enrich our families, and praying for the families who care for them. When God created the cosmos, God left us to manage creation. It is 30 minutes out of the year, that we give praise for those animals that are family members. Come join us at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 in the church parking lot, 1101 E. High St. (Rambler Ave. side, in the back). In case of rain, we will be in Horn Hall.
